My Stay in England

I have spent lots of good times in England and of course in Brighton, in the pubs, the nightclubs, and famous places like Brighton Pier and Churchill Square and also Western Road.

But I think if I was the only French person here, I would be better in English than now. But I have improved my English a lot and the thing that I prefer is to talk with English people I met in pubs or clubs.

I think this term we had too much homework, with the English Project (questionnaire, research, writing, powerpoint...) , with the English course, and homework for France ( study of an Company in France).
Some weeks in this term I felt that I wasted my time working on hard projects and that took a lot of time, I preferred to meet and speak with English students or foreign student to discover and learn about their culture.

But anyway I really enjoy my stay here, I visited London, Oxford...
That was a very very good experience for me and I will made a travel like that in a couple of years to continue my studies.

I enjoyed this course but today I am a little bit disapointed because of my report...

Arthur M

!!,,,,,,,,,,,BRIGHTON,,,,,,,,,,,!!

Hello0o0o0o0o,,,,How are you every body? We are now at the end of term and I'd like to talk about Brighton and what I've learnt and everything. I've learnt a lot of vocabulary and now I feel my English is better than before. I ate in a lot of restaurants like Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Italian and Indian. I've been to the Marina many times. It's really a very very nice place. Sometimes I go to the Royal Pavilion park I like it very much. I don't usually go to Churchill SQUARE. I often go to sea front to walk when the weather is ok.

My experience in Brighton

The time I am spending in Brighton is great, and in my opinion the University is great. The English system is very good, as a result we can improve our English a lot.
Also, Brighton is a place where we can always go out at the weekends, there are a lot of clubs. Generally, at the weekends I go out in Brighton in clubs and sometimes in pubs.
I also like Brighton because there are a lot af restaurants. I have eaten in Mexican, Italian and Chinese restaurants.
I also spend a lot of time in London as my boyfriend lives in London. So we can see each other at least once a week.
My experience in Brighton has not finished because i`m going to come back after the holidays for two more months, and after in June I am going to do some work experience. I`m really happy because I`ve found it in Brighton. And I look forward to being by the beach this summer, and all the clubs along the beach.

Final thoughts

I have been in england for 3 months

Nowadays I think my behavior wasn't correct in class during the first month. Then I try to change my behavior. I know my level in english when I'm alone because two years ago I was in the USA alone and I improved my english but here I'm not the same felling.
First of all may be because we have left here with my class and I knew, I could speak french, I don't know.
Then because to make a class with seven french students was very ridiculous, we are alone here , we know nobody unless our friends, it's difficult for us I think to go in a foreign country three months for the first time and also because in our class in France there is a hugh solidarity and we are together since 27 of September and also because i wasn't very happy to go in England...

It was also a great experience because I have learnt a lot of thing about |English culture , I have lived in a host family who is great I talk about them. I visited my city (Lewes) , I visited Brighton , streets , The Royal pavilion , I have learnt a lot about history of Brighton and it's very interesting but i had ever been in Brighton.
I visited also London and Oxford.
I think also I make a progress in listening because in my host family, every suppers I understand what the family said and it's not very easy to understand and also because I talk a lot with a girl and with the father(Robin).I improve my english also with our project because i wanted to have a good mark.

I think I felt so bad because in september I left house and It was the same in December.
However I'm happy because my first experience in England was horrible and now I like England.
The culture here and in France is very different but I like this way of life.
I hope if I come here again my experience will be better!

When I arrived 10 weeks ago, I never imagined the English way of life like this.
I lived in a house on the campus with 4 other students. There were two Chinese students, one American and one English student.
That is the reason why I discovered Chinese culture, food, habits and customs.
I really enjoy spending time with Chinese people that's why one day, the girl cooked me some dog... At the beginning, I was so surprised, but actually it tastes like chicken...
About the English course in the University, I think it would have been better if I was without French students in my class and I could improve my English better.
Moreover, I visited London and really enjoyed discovering this pretty city, which has lots of different places, areas... such as Nothing hill, Camden, China town...
I went back to France in the middle of the course to play a Handball match with my French team despite this, my family and my friend missed me, but I tried to take advantage of the city of Brighton, which is very attractive, the English way of life, ...
I hope to come back to England very soon, and still have more experiences here, enjoy the city of London, the seafront of Brighton, and the summer weather (will it get better??)

My life in Brighton

At the beginning, it was very difficult for me, in different ways, to adapt myself in this town. The weather was bad, my family and friends missed me.
Little by little my life in Brighton became more and more exciting. During my course I learnt a lot of things like vocabulary, I met people especially people who come from foreign countries and it was very fun to speak with them. The only bad point is that in Brighton there are many French people like in London and it was difficult to talk only in English. However this town is beautiful, I visited the Royal pavillion and brighton pier, I went shopping...
Now I like Brighton but I love London and I am very happy to be in this town because there is the sea and also I am just at 50 minutes from London by train. This three months was for me an excellent experience, now I think I am capable of travelling around the world for a long period.

My experience in Brighton

First of all, I have spent three months in Brighton and I will have good memories of this town.
With my friends, we went to Brighton Pier we saw a lot of shops, a lot of pubs and also a lot of nightclubs. So,we know Brighton well to go out every weekend.
When my parents came here, we discovered traditional Fish and Chips and I am angry because in my town in France we don't have Fish and Chips!!!!!!

One night, we went to Digital and we saw David Guetta it was a really good night.
Also, we went to London several times, and in my opinion it's nicer than Paris.
After, I ate in a French restaurant and I was happy to eat French food.

Now that my experience in Brighton has finished and I can say that I have really improved my English and I have learnt to live with another family, but for me, my host family have helped me to speak more English. But, I know that my English is not perfect and I must still work at it. The course at the University was brilliant and if I could I would like to start it again.

Brighton trip

My trip in brighton was really good because I learnt
a lot. I discovered a way of life different from my country
and I also found that the temperament was not the same
in England than in France.
During this trip, I knew some periods of discouragement
because I missed my family, but I feel that I improved
my English skills.

I had not regrets concerning this term. It was a very good
experience.

I loved the way whose people were dressed and the fact
that everybody felt indifferent about it. It was really funny !
I enjoyed the town and I had the impression that I know
the town centre on the fingertips.
I had not take a bath on the sea because of the weather
but I was a little surprised to see stones on the place of sand !
It could be unpleasant even in Summer...
I have not tasted the famous "Fish and chips" yet but I will soon.

I went to London three times. I enjoyed this town because
she was huge and really nice. And it is not impossible that I returne
to London before to go back to France. In my view it is more beautiful
than Paris because it is less "grey".

Brighton Pier was a good place too, entertaining even if there were
not lot of attractions to do.

The only negative point I can quote is that I am fed up to
take the red bus to go to the town or to go shopping.
Besides, do the shopping to eat the week was really borring
because my friends and me often were not agree concerning
food. So almost everyday, we ate pasta, rice and smashed potatos,
among other things...

I spent good time with my friends in this town and, despite I really
want bring up to France, I am feel a little sad to leave Brighton...
And before to go back, I have again some things that I would like to do.

My enxperience in Brighton

I have been here for nearly 3 months and I think this experience has taught me a lot even if everyday wasn't really nice.

First of all I lived with a host family, so it's dificult to really relax. I lived far away of the campus, it took more than 1 hour to go to the university so I had to wake up very early in the morning.
On the other hand, my family was nice.
I think I improved my english during this term but if I was alone (without French people) in my class I would progress more.

About Brighton, I think it's a great city with lots of things to do but I spent all my weekends in Oxford (because the other part of our class is there) so I didn't really discover Brighton, maybe I know Oxford better than Brighton ^^
I was very pleased to discover a new culture and a new way of life even if I thought of France sometimes.

I never ate fish and chips certainly because I hate fish but I went to famous restaurants such as the Bills and Wokmania. I didn't go to lots of clubs but tonight we are going to celebrate the end of our English project (with Ray)-.

I visited a little bit of London it is a lovely city I was glad to discover it.

The weather in England is horrible even if it could be worse...
I think Brighton is a very nice place during the summer...
I have to spend 12 more days in Brighton and I hope they will be the best ...
